Manufacturing

AI and software for manufacturing.

Orders, tickets, certificates and schedules checked against each other, so problems stop at the gate.

What we build
  • Delivery tickets
  • Quality certificates
  • Production scheduling

Sound familiar?

Where the time goes.

Manufacturers move paper with every truck: orders, delivery tickets, certificates of conformance and bills of lading. We build tools that read them and check them against the order and the spec, schedule around the rush job, and give plant leaders reports they no longer rebuild in a spreadsheet.

  • Short shipments found at invoicing

The ticket says five, the order says six, and the customer finds out first.

  • Certificates checked by eye

Test results are compared with each customer's spec by hand.

  • The schedule in one person's head

A rush order arrives, and only one planner knows what can move.

Example: a fictional delivery ticket, D-20817 from Plant 3 in Marlow on truck 14, lists 5 precast box culverts (6 by 4), 12 manhole risers (48 inch) and 30 grade rings. Before it can be invoiced it passes a checkpoint and is matched against sales order SO-55120: the customer and site match, the certificate of conformance is attached, all 12 risers and 30 grade rings are there, but only 5 of the 6 box culverts ordered were delivered. The gate stays down: the ticket is held before invoicing, short 1 box culvert worth $4,850, the next truck is scheduled for Thursday, and it is sent to dispatch for a person to confirm.

Example A delivery ticket checked against the order at the gate, and a short shipment held before invoicing. Fictional plant.

Use cases

What we would build for you.

  • Automation

    The checkpoint

    The situation
Every truck leaves with a delivery ticket. When the ticket and the order disagree, the mistake is usually found at invoicing, or by the customer.
    What we build
Each ticket is read and matched against the sales order before the invoice is created, and mismatches are held for dispatch to confirm.

The moment Five delivered against six ordered, caught at the gate before the invoice and the angry call.

  • AI assistants

    The certificate passport

    The situation
Each shipment's certificate must meet that customer's spec, and every customer's spec is different. Quality checks them by eye.
    What we build
A reader for certificates that compares every value with the customer's spec, then approves the shipment or holds it with the out-of-range value circled.

The moment Switch the customer, and the same certificate passes for one and is held for the other.

  • Custom apps

    Yard Tetris

    The situation
A rush order arrives, and the yard and the production schedule are already full. Moving one job affects five others.
    What we build
A schedule view that shows where the rush job fits, which job moves and what happens to each promise date, for the planner to approve.

The moment The rush job slots in by moving one job a day, and every affected customer's new date is shown before anyone calls.

How it works

How problems stop at the gate.

  1. 01Walk the plantWe follow an order from booking to the truck and the invoice, and note every document and check.
  2. 02Turn specs into checksCustomer specs, order terms and tolerances become checks a system can run, agreed with quality and operations.
  3. 03Read and matchTickets, certificates and orders are read as they are created and matched line by line.
  4. 04A person confirmsMismatches are held for dispatch, quality or billing to confirm, with the document attached.

Common questions

What people ask us first.

Will it work with our ERP?
Most manufacturing ERPs offer a way in, such as an API or a scheduled export. We confirm yours during discovery.
Our tickets are handwritten. Can it read them?
Most can be read from a phone photo. Where a field cannot be read, it is flagged for a person rather than guessed.
Does it change the schedule on its own?
No. It shows the options and their effect on promise dates. A planner decides.
