How we choose our people

Hand-picked, then proven.

We are careful about who we put on your team. Every person we bring in has shown what they can do before they ever meet you.

  1. Carefully screenedEvery applicant is checked with Ropes Scout across dozens of signals, from phone and email to résumé and public profiles, so only real, verified people reach an interview.
  2. Skills proven, not claimedEvery candidate passes a Ropes AI technical assessment: a real-world project built from the role, with their identity verified and the whole session recorded.
  3. Interviewed by our senior teamThe people who would review their work interview them first, on judgment, communication and how they work in a team.
  4. Background and employment checkedBefore anyone joins a client team, with their consent and as the law allows: identity, past employment verified with former employers, eligibility to work in the US and, where the role calls for it, education and criminal records.
  5. Matched to your teamWe put forward only people whose experience fits your role and your stack, and you interview them before anyone starts.
  6. Reviewed every monthA check-in with your lead and reviews from our senior people, for as long as they are on your team.

What we build

What it looks like in your business.

  • Product managers

Turn goals into a roadmap, run discovery with your customers, write the specs and keep everyone pointed at what matters most.

  • Architects and AI engineers

Design the system and build the AI in it: agents and features on your own data, with the evaluation, guardrails and monitoring that keep them reliable.

  • Software and DevOps engineers

Full-stack engineers who pick up your backlog in the first week, and DevOps engineers who own the cloud, the pipelines, monitoring and cost.

  • Fractional leaders

A part-time CTO, head of product or CISO, for the judgment a team needs before it is ready for the full-time hire.

Is it for you?

You might need this if…

  • Your roadmap is clear, but hiring cannot keep up with it.
  • You need AI experience on the team now, not after a six-month search.
  • A project needs a product manager for a year, not forever.

Common questions

What people ask us first.

How do you choose your people?
Carefully. Every applicant is screened for fraud with Ropes Scout, then passes a Ropes AI technical assessment, a real-world project built from the role with identity verified, then an interview with our senior team, a background check and verification of their employment history and their eligibility to work in the US. You meet them before they start.
How is it priced?
One monthly rate per person, set by the role and seniority and agreed before they start. No hourly billing and no recruiting fee.
Who does the person work for?
Day to day they work in your team, with your leads setting priorities. They stay part of Sixth Wave, so we handle employment, benefits, reviews and cover.
What if someone is not the right fit?
Tell us, and we replace them. The point is the work getting done, not the person we happened to send first.
How quickly can someone start?
Usually within two weeks of agreeing the role. They work your hours, join your meetings and can be full-time or, for leadership roles, part-time.
Who owns what they build?
You do. Code, documents and everything else they produce for you belongs to your company, and that is written into the agreement before anyone starts.
How is this different from a project?
A project is scoped and priced against what it delivers. An embedded team works to your priorities and is paid monthly, per person. Many clients start with one and add the other.
