Energy & engineering

AI and software for energy & engineering.

Vendor documents, specs and field reports read and checked, so engineers review the exceptions, not every line.

What we build
  • Submittal review
  • Document control
  • Field reporting

Sound familiar?

Where the time goes.

Engineering and construction firms for energy, chemicals and heavy industry run on documents: specifications, vendor datasheets, drawings and daily reports, often thousands on a single project. We build tools that read them and check them against the spec, so your engineers spend their time on the exceptions.

  • Every submittal checked by hand

An engineer compares each vendor datasheet with the specification, line by line, then types up the comments.

  • The current revision is hard to find

Drawings and datasheets live in several systems, and the latest revision is not always the one in front of you.

  • Field reports typed twice

Daily reports from site are written once, then keyed again into project controls.

Example: a fictional vendor sends a pump datasheet. Its fields are read and compared with the project specification: casing material, design pressure and motor match; the seal flush plan does not (Plan 11 offered, API Plan 53B specified), and the hazardous area rating is missing. A comment sheet with both comments is drafted, marked revise and resubmit, and waits for the lead engineer to approve it; the document register shows day 2 of 10.

Example A vendor's pump datasheet checked against the spec, and a comment sheet drafted for an engineer. Fictional project.

Use cases

What we would build for you.

  • Automation

    The submittal check

    The situation
On a large project, engineers check thousands of vendor datasheets against the specification, line by line, then type up their comments.
    What we build
Each datasheet is read as it arrives and compared field by field with the spec, with a comment sheet drafted for the engineer.

The moment A seal plan that does not match the spec is caught on page 4, and the comment is already written.

  • Integrations

    The current revision

    The situation
Drawings and datasheets live in several systems, and the revision on the desk is not always the latest one.
    What we build
A register that reads every system, knows the current revision of each document and warns when an older one is opened.

The moment Someone opens Rev B, and the register says Rev C was issued on Tuesday.

  • Custom apps

    The daily report, once

    The situation
Field crews write daily reports on site, then someone keys the same hours, quantities and issues into project controls.
    What we build
A phone form for the daily report that sends hours, quantities and issues straight to project controls, with photos attached.

The moment The report written at 5 pm is in the project dashboard at 5:01.

How it works

How submittals stop being checked line by line.

  1. 01Follow a submittalWe trace one from the vendor's email to the document register, and note every check an engineer makes along the way.
  2. 02Turn the spec into checksMaterials, pressures, ratings and standards from your specification become checks a system can run, agreed with your engineers.
  3. 03Read and compareEach datasheet is read as it arrives and compared field by field, and every deviation is shown with the page it came from.
  4. 04An engineer decidesThe comment sheet is drafted; an engineer accepts, edits or rejects each comment before anything goes back to the vendor.

Common questions

What people ask us first.

Does it replace our document control system?
No. It works alongside the system you already use, reading from it and writing the status back.
Can it read scanned or older documents?
Most vendor documents can be read as they are. Where a scan is too poor to read, the field is flagged for a person rather than guessed.
Who signs off?
Your engineers. Nothing is approved or sent back to a vendor without a person.
