Security & compliance
Know where the real risk is. Fix it first.
Large organisations rarely lack security tools. What they lack is one clear picture of where the real risk is, a plan the board and the auditors will back, and the engineering to carry it out. Our team maps how an attacker would reach what matters most, tests it, builds the roadmap and the controls, and builds the software that keeps evidence, access and alerts current across every business unit.
- Attack pathstested hands-on, not ticked off a checklist
- Risk removedhow every step on the roadmap is ranked
- Every fixretested before it is closed
Example: a fictional security program for an insurer with 4,000 staff in 3 regions and 140 apps. Testing found one attack path: a contractor account phished in a test, then a VPN rule left open since 2019, then a file server with no MFA, reaching the claims database, the crown jewel. The path is closed with three fixes: MFA on contractor accounts, the old VPN rule removed and file server access limited, proven, fixed and retested in 9 days. A 12-month roadmap is ranked by risk reduced: in Q1, privileged access and MFA takes 22 points off the risk score; in Q2, detection and response takes 12; in Q3, vendor and third-party risk takes 7; and Q4 is the SOC 2 Type II audit window. The board view shows the risk score falling from 72 to 31, 41 points in all. Every finding is retested, and your team approves every change.
What we build
What it looks like in your business.
Strategy and roadmap
A threat model of what matters most, a roadmap ranked by the risk each step removes, and the measures your board sees, led by a fractional CISO if you need one.
Penetration testing
Hands-on testing of applications, cloud and identity that follows real attack paths, within a scope agreed in writing, with every finding ranked, fixed and retested.
Compliance readiness
SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS or NIST CSF: a gap assessment, then the controls, policies and evidence in place before the auditor arrives.
Security software we build
Automated audit evidence, access reviews, vendor risk tracking and guardrails for AI agents, built into the systems you already run.
Frameworks we get teams ready for
- SOC 2
- HIPAA
- ISO 27001
- PCI DSS
- NIST CSF
An example engagement
A fictional insurer with 4,000 staff, three regions and 140 applications.
- Weeks 1–3Find what matters mostClaims data, payments and the policy system named as the crown jewels, and every way in mapped: identities, vendors, cloud accounts and AI tools.
- Weeks 4–6Test the likeliest pathA penetration test follows it end to end: a phished contractor account, a VPN rule left open since 2019, a file server without MFA, then the claims database. Proven, closed and retested.
- Weeks 7–8Build the roadmapTwelve months of work ranked by the risk each step removes: privileged access first, then detection, then vendor risk, with the SOC 2 Type II window booked and the measures the board will see.
- OngoingBuild it and prove itSoftware that collects audit evidence, runs quarterly access reviews and keeps AI agents to what they are allowed to touch, across every business unit.
Illustrative engagement. Names and figures are fictional.
How it works
From scattered tools to one plan the board backs.
- 01Find the crown jewelsThe data and systems that would hurt most to lose, and who and what can reach them today.
- 02Map the attack pathsHow an attacker would actually get there, tested hands-on, not assumed from a checklist.
- 03Plan by risk removedA roadmap that fixes the most dangerous paths first, with costs, owners and the measures leadership will track.
- 04Build, test and proveControls and software put in place, retested, and the evidence kept current for every audit and questionnaire.
Is it for you?
You might need this if…
- Each business unit runs its own tools, and nobody can show the board one picture of risk.
- Customers and regulators send security questionnaires faster than your team can answer them.
- AI agents are going into production, and nobody has decided what they are allowed to touch.
Where it helps
Who we build it for.
Common questions
What people ask us first.
- Are you an audit firm?
- No. We get you ready and keep you ready; an independent audit firm issues the SOC 2 report or the certification. We work alongside your auditor.
- What does a penetration test cover?
- The scope is agreed in writing before anything starts: which applications, networks or cloud accounts, what is off limits and when testing happens. You get every finding with its risk and its fix, and a retest once the fixes are in.
- Will you work with our security team and the tools we already have?
- Yes. We start from the tools, teams and policies you have, fill the gaps, and hand over everything we build so your team owns it.
