Flood Compliance Consultant, FloodCaliber™

Bring your lender flood compliance experience to FloodCaliber™ (opens in a new tab), and help banks run flood reviews they can stand behind.

  • Remote · US
  • Full time
  • $120,000 to $155,000 a year
  • 401(k)
  • Health benefits

The job

FloodCaliber™ (opens in a new tab) is our flood insurance review software for U.S. banks and lenders, and it runs inside each bank's own environment.

It reads the bank's loan files, flood determinations and policies with state-of-the-art technology, calculates the coverage each loan requires with versioned rules, and shows the reviewer the highlighted page behind every number. Reviewers verify the evidence, correct an input with the page that supports it, approve or send back each review, and hand it on as a PDF report or Excel workbook. Cali, FloodCaliber™'s AI assistant, works through each flood calculation with the reviewer: how the required coverage was reached, where every number came from and what to check next.

You'll be the flood expert our customers work with, across everything we offer them: implementations, system connections, the Review API, and flood process and historical calculation audits.

This is lender-side flood compliance. It isn't a role at an insurance carrier or agency, and there's no selling, underwriting or adjusting of flood policies. The role is remote, with occasional travel to customer sites.

What you’ll do

  • Implement FloodCaliber™ for new customers: walk through a bank's flood procedures, manuals and example files, and turn them into the calculation setup, test scenarios and acceptance checks a first release is proven against.
  • Grow those rollouts as banks connect their lending, document and insurance-tracking systems and add reviewer roles, workflows and reports.
  • Connect banks through the Review API: agree their calculation profile, map the values their system sends, and check the results against sample cases.
  • Lead Flood Process Audits: map how a lender's flood work happens today, test a sample of files, and deliver a findings report and action plan that separates what the regulation requires from investor rules and the bank's own policy.
  • Work historical calculation audits: re-check past calculations against their loan, property and insurance records, and list what needs follow-up.
  • Validate calculations by hand and train each bank's flood reviewers, including working flood calculations with Cali, our AI assistant.
  • Work with our engineers on the rules, wording, reports and Cali's answers, so the product reads right to a flood reviewer.

What you’ll bring

  • At least two years of flood insurance compliance at a bank, credit union, mortgage lender or servicer. We check it in the screening call.
  • You've calculated required flood coverage yourself: outstanding principal, insurable value and the NFIP maximum, for residential and commercial loans.
  • Working knowledge of the Flood Disaster Protection Act, Regulation H (12 CFR 208.25) and its OCC and FDIC equivalents, 44 CFR 61.6 and the Interagency Questions and Answers.
  • Comfort with SFHDF determinations, Special Flood Hazard Areas, LOMAs and LOMRs, and the make, increase, renew or extend events that trigger a review.
  • Hands-on with commercial loans with several buildings, contents or shared coverage, and with condominiums and RCBAP master policies.
  • Experience with private flood policy acceptance, junior liens and home equity lines.
  • Experience with force placement, escrow and borrower notices.
  • Flood exam preparation, audits or quality control.
  • Clear writing, and the calm to walk a compliance officer or an examiner through how a number was reached.

Bonus points

  • Tech savvy: you pick up new software fast and like making it work better
  • Implementing or testing loan or compliance software
  • Hands-on with Salesforce, nCino, IrisX or Synergy
  • Advanced Excel
  • Comfortable with AI tools and document intelligence
  • SQL, or reporting tools like Power BI
